Teachers and Influences

In 2005 I completed a 200 hour teacher training with Alison West's Yoga Union

where I subsequently received a 500 hour certification, as well as certification in teaching backcare. I also study with Genny Kapuler, Amy Matthews and Nikki Costello.

I have participated in Ms. Matthews' Practices in Embodied Teaching program (approximately 250 hours) and have participated in her Developmental Patterns weekends. I have also participated in Ms. Costello's Mentor and Sutra Practices taking five segments (approximately 300 hours) of her Enrichment Practice (TEP) and have traveled twice with her to the Thiksey Monastery in Ladakh, India to study Buddhism and practice meditation with the monks there.

I have completed over 200 hours in yoga therapy training with Dr. Ganesh Mohan's Svashta Yoga Therapy program. In 2013 I was certified to teach prenatal yoga through the Prenatal Yoga Center, and have studied Women's Yoga extensively with Bobby Clennell. In 2015 I completed a "Foundation Course in the Alexander Technique for Teachers of Yoga" with Witold Fitz-Simon. I study yoga philosophy, scripture and Sanskrit with Prem Sadasivananda and recently began studying Tibetan Buddhism with Khenpo Pema Wangdak. My newest interest is Tai Chi which I practice with Sharon Smith.

I've completed the Lineage Project's Training for teaching mindfulness practices to youth in vulnerable environments. I also completed Judith Lasater's Relax and Renew training and Rudrani Farbman Brown's Meditation training at World Yoga.

In 2018 I was certified to teach Yoga for Osteoporosis by Dr. Loren Fishman and Ellen Saltonstall. And, over the past three years I have completed and received certification for over 200 hours of online classes on Yogic and Buddhist concepts and philosophy through the Tricycle, Embodied Philosophy,  Yogic Studies and Shambhala platforms.
