Teachers and Influences
In 2005 I completed a 200 hour teacher training with Alison West's Yoga Union
where I subsequently received a 500 hour certification, as well as certification in teaching backcare. I currently study with Genny Kapuler and assist her on Wednesday evenings.
I have participated in Amy Matthew's Practices in Embodied Teaching program (approximately 250 hours) and have participated in her Developmental Patterns weekends. I have also participated in Nikki Costello's Mentor and Sutra Practices taking five segments (approximately 300 hours) of her Enrichment Practice (TEP) and have traveled twice with her to the Thiksey Monastery in Ladakh, India to study Buddhism and practice meditation with the monks there.
I have completed over 200 hours in yoga therapy training with Dr. Ganesh Mohan's Svashta Yoga Therapy program. And, currently participate in the Mohan's therapeutic program online. In 2013 I was certified to teach prenatal yoga through the Prenatal Yoga Center, and have studied Women's Yoga extensively with Bobby Clennell. In 2015 I completed a "Foundation Course in the Alexander Technique for Teachers of Yoga" with Witold Fitz-Simon. I study yoga philosophy, scripture and Sanskrit with Prem Sadasivananda and recently began studying Tibetan Buddhism with Khenpo Pema Wangdak. My newest interest is Tai Chi which I practice with Sharon Smith. I have taken over 2,000 hours of training in yoga and related therapies.
I've completed the Lineage Project's Training for teaching mindfulness practices to youth in vulnerable environments. I also completed Judith Lasater's Relax and Renew training and Rudrani Farbman Brown's Meditation training at World Yoga.
In 2018 I was certified to teach Yoga for Osteoporosis by Dr. Loren Fishman and Ellen Saltonstall. And, over the past several years I have completed and received certification for many programs on Yogic and Buddhist concepts and philosophy through the Tricycle, Embodied Philosophy, Yogic Studies and Shambhala platforms.
